Minister Of Public Works Regarding Toll Rates Discounts During Eid 2025: Must Talk To BUJT

JAKARTA - The Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo confirmed that there would be a discount on toll rates during the Lebaran 2025 holiday. According to him, this is common every long holiday of religious holidays.

"If it's a big day, we'll give you a discount. It's just me, right, I've talked a few times, if the toll tariff cuts it, that's the profit margin for the business entity. So, I have to talk from heart to heart," said Dody to reporters at his office, Friday, February 21.

Dody gave an example of the provision of a 10 percent toll rate discount during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays (Nataru 2024/2025).

Moreover, said Dody, the discounting of toll rates was a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto recently.

"For example yesterday, Nataru, we can give 10 percent. Moreover, there is an order and I have told the President (limited meeting) that I can (there is a tariff discount)," he said.

However, Dody admitted that he could not provide information regarding the cut in toll rates that would be given. The reason, he said, this still needs to be coordinated with other stakeholders.

"It's just that the numbers are not unanimous. Maybe the numbers will be round after the (Ministry) of Transportation is round. So, we should announce it together," said Dody.

"I can't do half (announce) again, we are working together with toll road entrepreneurs to be able to provide discounts that hopefully are at least the same, right (as during Nataru). God willing, we can (do it)," he concluded.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto said that a number of policy stimuluss were ahead of Lebaran 2025. The Head of State ensured that there would be discounted aircraft prices to toll rates.

This is included in the policy to encourage economic growth in the first quarter of 2025. One of them is the policy, namely the 2025 Eid Al-Fitr National Religious Holiday (HBKN) stimulus.

"The HBKN stimulus Ramadhan Lebaran: a. discounted plane ticket price. b. discount toll rate. c. shopping discount programs such as Harbolnas 2025, EPIC Sales 2025 program and BINA Discount 2025.d. Eid homecoming tourism program (related Ministry of Tourism and SOEs). e. food price stabilization," Prabowo said at a press conference at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, February 17.
