JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) said it would provide cash of IDR 180.9 trillion for the needs of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in 2025. This number decreased by 1.6 percent when compared to last year's realization of IDR 183.8 trillion.
BI Deputy Governor Doni Primanto Joewono said he would continue to maintain the availability of sufficient Rupiah money with a proper distribution quality during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) period through the Semarak Rupiah Ramadhan and Berkah Idul Fitri (SERAMBI) 2025 program.
Therefore, Doni conveyed that Bank Indonesia is preparing the SERAMBI program to maintain rupiah on a month full of blessings, as well as encourage people to love and understand rupiah.
"So this is what we will do, of course, what we have prepared is around Rp. 180.9 trillion. Of course, this is a bit down, yes, 1.6 percent. Last year it was Rp. 183.8 because we are considering the expansion of non-cash acceptance. So we reduce it a little bit, yes," he said at a press conference, Wednesday, December 19.
Doni explained that the need for cash during Eid al-Fitr reached almost 25 percent of the total money needs throughout the year.
Therefore, Doni conveyed that the distribution of cash at this moment is very important and Bank Indonesia will start distributing cash from March 3 to March 27, with three types of services to be carried out.
Meanwhile, the first service is regular mobile services, where Bank Indonesia will visit places of worship such as mosques. The second service is banking joint services, which are usually carried out at Monas.
The third service is thematic service, where Bank Indonesia will be present at locations such as the Ramadan Bazaar.

Doni said overall, this service will be available at around 4,000 points with banks.
"So basically that's 3 services that we will do and later together with the banking, up to 4,000 points including with BI 1,200 points," he said.
In addition, Doni revealed that BI would increase the exchange value limit from the previous Rp4 million to Rp4.3 million to reduce crowds and queues and exchanges to continue using the Smart application.
"We don't accept gross but we ask that the Smart application is still in order to be neat and clear there (exchange deposits)," he said.
"Of course, to reduce the credit, we no longer accept the goso. So we don't accept the goso term so people come in person. But they are required to enter our smart application. Yes, smart in bi.go.id. So later everything can be neat and the information can be clear there," he said.
