Prabowo's Efficiency Target Is IDR 750 Trillion, Deputy Minister Of Finance Suahasil Comes From A Few Years Ago

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara explained that the budget efficiency of up to IDR 750 trillion has been carried out in recent years.

Suahasil said the nominal budget efficiency submitted by President Prabowo also included sweeping the budgets carried out in previous years and this year including dividends from State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

"The budget savings that the president said earlier were a few years ago we have carried out a sweep that already exists, and this year we are conducting a sweep, then there are also those from BUMN," he told the media crew, Tuesday, February 18.

Suahasil explained that the efficiency currently being carried out aims to increase the effectiveness of the central or local government's operational budget.

According to him, the efficiency of the budget will allow funds to be used for activities that really support increased productivity, local economic growth, and empowerment of MSMEs.

"The funds can be used for activities that really increase productivity and increase the message from the DPD is to grow the local economy to increase MSMEs," he told the media crew, Tuesday, February 18.

Suahasil explained that based on Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025, the efficiency carried out includes a Ministry/Institution budget of IDR 256 trillion and a regional transfer budget of IDR 50 trillion.

"There is no efficiency as written in Presidential Instruction 1/2025 from the K/L budget of Rp256 trillion and from the apbd from transfer to the regions there will be Rp50 trillion later we will combine it and it will already be in the inpres 1/2025," he explained.

Previously on the 17th anniversary of Gerindra, President Prabowo stated that budget savings were made up to three rounds with a target of IDR 750 trillion.

As for the first round, budget savings amounted to Rp300 trillion, then in the second round amounted to Rp308 trillion. However, as much as Rp58 trillion will be returned to K/L so that the net savings will be Rp250 trillion.

Third savings come from dividends that are targeted by SOEs to reach Rp300 trillion and will be used at Rp100 trillion and will be returned to BUMN for working capital.
