Ministry Of Finance's Efficiency Budget Reaches IDR 8.99 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) was also affected by a budget cuts of IDR 8.99 trillion from President Prabowo Subianto's policy regarding budget efficiency of IDR 306.69 trillion.

President Prabowo's government budget efficiency policy is contained in Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget and Regional Budget and Decree of the Minister of Finance No. S-37 / MK.02 / 2025 concerning the Efficiency of Expenditures for K / L in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget.

"The total efficiency carried out for the Ministry of Finance in accordance with Presidential Instruction 1 2025 is that we must save even further Rp8.99 trillion," said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in a meeting held at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Thursday, February 13.

Sri Mulyani said that the Ministry of Finance is the same as other Ministries/Institutions that must implement Presidential Instruction 1 of 2025 where all Ministries of Institutions must continue to carry out budget efficiency.

"Where the focus is on operational and non-operational spending such as import operational spending, maintenance spending, official travel expenditures, infrastructure development, and procurement of equipment and machinery," he said.

Sri Mulyani explained that what was not included in the budget efficiency of personnel expenditures and social assistance expenditures was in accordance with Presidential Instruction 1-2025.

According to him, the ministry he has led since COVID-19 has taken various steps to continue to reduce various costs and expenditures and budgets that are considered capable of being streamlined.

Sri Mulyani gave an example, such as the policy to carry out negative growth in terms of 4.434 employees which is currently 77.023 from the previous 82.468.

In addition, Sri Mulyani said that the ministry of finance also controls spending on birography, especially for official trips, contracting, socialization, working meeting, technical guidance, and seminar kits, was abolished.

"We are also developing through a digital mechanism with the use of applications that can be collaborative, such as MS 365 centrally so that procurement and also in terms of effectiveness can be further increased," he continued.

Sri Mulyani continues to procure laptops through the LKPP e-catalog and also accompanied by the TKDN policy which saves 33 percent of the previous laptop procurement.

In addition, according to him, digitizing the business process has caused a drastic reduction in the budget for document printing.

"Currently, the photocopy machine, which was 129 units, has become 24 units, because there are several interests that, when we carry out tasks such as court proceedings and others, we are often asked for documents in terms of printing so that we still have 24 units of photocopying machines," he said.

According to him, employee spending, in this case, for salary payments, is carried out centrally through share services, reducing not only from the staff side but also the salary management budget and optimizing human resources.

"So the salary itself is not influenced, but the salary is lowered so that the administrative process and also the implications of human resources have decreased," he explained.

Sri Mulyani said that the use of infrastructure is increasingly being optimized because now all infrastructure is from the Ministry of Finance internally.

In addition to iti, Sri Mulyani said that for output and price of goods, fee standardization is carried out so as not to cause uniformity and certainty.

"As well as for official travel, now mandatory must use IPERJADIN so that it can be monitored how far and how much frequency so that this is also the center for efficiency," he added.
