100 Working Days, Minister Prabowo Thwarted Textile-Kosmetics Coverage Worth IDR 4.06 Trillion

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that during the first 100 working days, the Red and White Cabinet had succeeded in carrying out 6,187 prosecutions. The total value of goods and services from this action reached Rp4.06 trillion.

The prosecution of goods in the absence was carried out by various ministries and institutions including the Ministry of Finance, the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs, the Police, the TNI, the Attorney General's Office, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, the Quarantine Agency, and other Ministries / Agencies.

"We took action in 100 days from the work of the Red and White Cabinet. The value of goods and services from this action is IDR 4.06 trillion and the potential loss to the state which can be prevented by IDR 820 billion," he said in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, February 5.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani said the locations of the prosecution were various in several places. In detail, 49 percent at the port, 15 percent at the airport, and 10 percent on the coast

"And others such as on highways or tied areas," he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan revealed that the goods resulting from the 100 working days of smuggling include tobacco, liquor, textiles and accessories, steel, electronics, cosmetics, rattan wood and glass ivory.

In addition, Desk (Peludupan) has also succeeded in securing the potential for biosecurity from animals and smuggled plants such as long-tailed monkeys, pigs, birds, chickens, lobsters, rice meat, sparrows and plant seeds, fruits and ornamental plants, "he said.

Budi said the 100-day smuggling value was equivalent to 42.40 percent of the action throughout 2024. Last year, the government carried out 37,264 prosecutions with a value of Rp9.67 trillion.

"These results all show the seriousness of the President, Mr. Prabowo Subianto in taking firm equivalent actions or actions against illegal smuggling perpetrators to maintain our economic stability," he said.

"Then to protect our consumers from harmful goods or counterfeit goods, as well as to protect and practice the government to domestic industries including MSMEs," he continued.
