In The Aftermath Of The Death Accident Incident Of GT Ciawi 2, Jasa Marga: Traffic Was Diverted Out Via GT Bogor

JAKARTA - A series of accidents occurred at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate (GT) towards Jakarta on Tuesday night, February 4, allegedly due to a truck loaded with gallons of water experiencing failed brakes.

A deadly incident occurred when a truck drove from Ciawi to Jakarta and hit a number of vehicles at the toll gate at around 23.30 WIB.

Senior Manager Representative Office 1 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Alvin Andituakat Singarimbun said that his party as the manager of the Jagorawi Toll Road with Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) and the police arrived at the location to secure and immediately regulate traffic.

"The traffic to GT Ciawi 2 was diverted out through the Bogor GT during security and evacuation at the scene," said Alvin in his official statement, Wednesday, February 5.

Alvin said, since 02.00 WIB in the morning two substations have been opened to be crossed and at 05.15 WIB until now only one automatic toll booth (GTO) and two Multi Toll Substations have been opened.

In addition, Jasa Marga officers also activate mobile reader to increase transaction capacity at GT Ciawi 2.
