Bahlil also said that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office would become a downstream task force post for the next 5 years.
Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) was appointed by President Prabowo Subianto as Chair of the Indonesian Downstream Task Force. This is stated in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1 of 2025 concerning the Task Force for the Acceleration of National Downstreaming and Energy Resilience.
This new regulation states that the formation of this task force is intended to accelerate downstreaming in the fields of minerals and coal, oil and natural gas, agriculture, forestry in marine and fisheries to increase added value in the country.
