JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer conveyed an official response regarding the Supreme Court (MA) decision regarding PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (Sritex).

In his statement, Wamenaker Noel emphasized the Ministry of Manpower's commitment to ensuring workers' rights remains a top priority, amid the challenges facing the company.

"We fully respect the legal decision issued by the Supreme Court. We are optimistic that if there is a going concern, Sritex management will continue to prioritize the interests of workers, especially in fulfilling their rights," said Noel to the media crew, Friday, December 20.

He added that his party hopes that this decision will not have an impact on changes in management commitments related to the avoidance of Termination of Work Relations (PHK) for Sritex workers.

"Hopefully, this decision will not change the management's commitment not to lay off workers. However, if other situations occur, the Ministry of Manpower is ready to provide maximum support," he said.

As a form of mitigation, the Ministry of Manpower has prepared a number of steps to protect and empower affected workers.

He detailed that the Ministry of Manpower has a Job Loss Guarantee Program (JKP) that provides protection for workers who have lost their jobs.

"There is also a Job Market that helps workers find new job opportunities. And finally we have a Job Training Center (BLK), which provides upskilling & reskilling programs to improve workers' competence," he continued.

Noel emphasized that the Ministry of Manpower was present to ensure that no workers were left unprotected.

"With the existing programs, we are ready to provide the best treatment for Sritex workers," said Noel.
