Targeting Eastern Indonesia, Ministry Of Trade Distributes 1.3 Million Liters Of Oil To Papua, Maluku To Merauke

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade has just released 1,200 tons of Oilita or around 1.3 million liters to be distributed to eastern Indonesia, Maluku to Papua. This distribution uses the sea toll road.

Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said for eastern Indonesia, the price of bulk cooking oil is still varied, ranging from Rp. 17,000 to Rp. 19,000 per liter. Therefore, intervention is needed so that the price of cooking oil in the area is the same as in other areas, namely Rp. 14,000 per liter.

Zulhas as Zulkifli Hasan is familiar, said that the sea toll road could reduce logistics costs. Because, said Zulhas, distribution to eastern Indonesia is indeed very expensive.

"Intervention assistance is needed, I thank the Minister of Transportation (Budi Karya Sumadi), we use the sea toll road. With this, transportation will be light, because the far east is the expensive one," he said at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, Thursday, August 11.

Zulhas said, with the cooperation between the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Transportation through the sea highway, people in eastern Indonesia can also enjoy simple packaged oil or Oilita at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

"Today we will ship approximately 1,200 tons, approximately 1.3 million liters. The details go to Papua, West Papua, then Maluku, Kupang, Merauke and Timika," he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the sea toll road continues to play its role because it can distribute Oilita to eastern Indonesia. With the sea toll road, the price of cooking oil can match the HET of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

"We appreciate what the Ministry of Trade, industry and friends in the maritime highway sector have done, because it is inevitable that the president wants the price disparity between east and west to be made non-existent. So that this Rp14,000 cooking oil can be enjoyed or bought by the public," said Budi.
