JAKARTA – The Ministry of Finance's National Single Window (LNSW) Institute said the government continues to strive to create breakthroughs in the investment and trade fields, one of which is through the application system in Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

LNSW Secretary Muhamad Lukman said this scheme allows business actors to get special treatment facilities for taxation, customs and excise.

"This system can remove regulatory or procedural barriers, integrate export/import electronic systems, support institutional strengthening, add business fields to non-industrial SEZs, and provide fiscal certainty for business actors," he said in a press statement on Monday, July 4.

According to Lukman, until the end of May 2022, there were 172 profiles of perpetrators using the SEZ application system with 641 documents for submitting SEZ Service Notifications (PJKEK) and a transaction value of IDR 4.61 trillion.

"A total of 251 masterlist application documents have been implemented in the SEZs of Galang Batang, Sei Mangkei, Kendal, Gresik, Arun Lhokseumawe, and Palu, and there are 3755 Customs Application documents for SEZs (PPKEK) that have been implemented in Galang Batang, Kendal, Mandalika, and Gresik. " he said.

Lukman added, the implementation of the SEZ application system, which is carried out in stages throughout all SEZs in the country, is aimed at providing efficiency, transparency, reliability, integration, and providing convenience for business actors in SEZs so that they can increase competitiveness.

"In turn, these benefits are expected to increase investment, create jobs, as well as improve the regional economy," he stressed.

For information, the existence of SEZs is marked by the enactment of Law Number 39 of 2009 concerning Special Economic Zones. The government itself considers the SEZ reform to be going well in line with the presence of development initiatives as stated in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.
