JAKARTA - The producer of Sari Roti owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim, PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk (ROTI) announced the addition of two new business activities as part of the company's business expansion. The decision was accepted and ratified at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on Monday 27 June.

The Company amended the Articles of Association related to business activities, namely the wholesale trading of milk and its products (KBLI 46326) and the food industry of chocolate and chocolate confectionery (KBLI 10732).

"The management expresses gratitude for the trust given by the shareholders. The year 2022 will be recorded as an important milestone for the company to start the Chocolate Spread and Chocolate Milk business," said Director of Nippon Indosari (ROTI), Arlina Sofia, in an official statement, quoted on Wednesday 29 June.

The shareholders have also received a feasibility study regarding the addition of the new business, and asked the board of directors to execute the decision.

Arlina said that the chocolate spread product will share the company's internal production facilities, while the chocolate milk product will be produced by a third party.

The Company believes that the positive contribution of Chocolate Spread and Chocolate Milk on financial performance will be felt in the not too distant future.

"The management targets that in 2024 the Chocolate and Milk Cream business will achieve a minimum of 3 percent of the company's gross profit in 2022," said Ida Apulia Simatupang, Director of the Company.

Meanwhile, the Company's main business, namely the mass-produced bread segment, is believed to be still very prospective. Reflected in the performance of the first quarter of 2022 with profit for the current period attributable to owners of the parent entity of IDR 88.3 billion or equivalent to a growth of 55.7 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
