JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the Proudly Made Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) program which the government continues to campaign for is a step to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) go digital or enter digital platforms.

According to Sandiaga, the Gernas BBI program is intended to address and anticipate the decline in people's purchasing power during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, he said, the government needed short-term mitigation and recovery solutions to create stimulus on the demand side and encourage online digital platforms.

Furthermore, Sandiaga also invited all stakeholders to increase cooperation in the use of innovation and technology. According to him, various efforts by the government and pentahelix have been made to ensure that MSMEs can survive.

Sandiaga said the launch of the Gernas BBI program was said to have helped MSMEs enter the digital platform. In 2020, it is said that 3.7 million MSMEs have entered the digital platform so that the total MSMEs that have entered the digital realm are almost 12 million.

"We can deliver a total target of 30 million MSMEs by the end of 2023, God willing," he said at the virtual opening of the 2021 Indonesian Creative Work Summit (KKI), Jakarta, Thursday, September 23.

The former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta said that the current economic condition has shown a bright spot and is much different from last year's economic conditions. He considered this to be a contribution to the development of the digital economy and the industrial revolution 4.0.

"Let's synergize with Gernas BBI and this is a step of synergy and collaboration to keep us going in the future. Let's unite steps and remain optimistic in pushing for the acceleration of Indonesia's economic growth, open up as many job opportunities as possible, and we will raise our class to become world-class," he said.

For your information, the 2021 KKI Peak activity is a joint stage with Bank Indonesia and ministries/agencies in encouraging optimism and the rise of MSMEs in the pandemic era. This series of events will run from September 23 to 26, 2021.
