Visiting The DPR, OJK Asks For Permit To Refocus Budget Of IDR 177 Billion

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has proposed a budget refocusing initiative of IDR 177.21 billion for the second quarter to the fourth quarter of 2021. This was conveyed by OJK when attending a working meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) today at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta.

Deputy Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Nurhaida, said that this was needed to prepare the best conditions for facing the latest developments.

"The OJK proposes to refocus the budget with the consideration that although the number of people exposed to COVID-19 tends to decline, it is estimated that the implementation of physical activities will still be carried out with the precautionary principle until the end of 2021", she said through a virtual broadcast, Wednesday, September 15.

According to Nurhaida, this step is important to support the performance of the authorities in carrying out the task of supervising and protecting the financial services sector.

"Therefore, it is necessary to refocus the budget in the first quarter to the fourth quarter of 2021, especially for the budget for 10 specific types of productive activities", she said.

In her explanation, the refocusing budget of IDR 177.21 billion will be divided into three main focuses.

The first is the focus of activities according to the DPR's lapsing (short report) on April 6, 2021, which includes increasing the ability of employees of IDR 6.15 billion, financial literacy and inclusion of IDR 8.5 billion, increasing IT facilities of IDR 15.07 billion, and the allocation of external legal advisors of IDR 460 million.

Second, strengthening the supervisory function consisting of institutional strengthening of IDR 15.45 billion, office operations of IDR 20.49 billion, procurement of buildings and offices of IDR 80.01 billion, and the impact of taxation of IDR 19.32 billion.

The third is OJK's additional activities in the form of vaccinations for the financial services sector, which is stated at IDR 11.75 billion.

For information, the refocusing in the second to fourth quarters of 2021 is a continuation of the same agenda for the first quarter refocusing which was known to be IDR 42.21 billion.

Just so you know, for this year's period the state provided funds of IDR 6.21 trillion for the entire agenda of activities and operations of the institution led by Wimboh Santoso.
