Furthermore, Irfan said Garuda Indonesia is optimistic that domestic flight traffic and the occupancy rate of aircraft passengers will gradually recover as in the period before the implementation of the PPKM policy in line with the decline in the positivity rate for COVID-19 cases at the national level.

"The current number of Garuda Indonesia passengers has shown a positive upward trend where the average daily passenger traffic has managed to increase by more than 50 percent compared to the PPKM level 4 implementation period some time ago," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, August 31. .

With the increase in community activities, said Irfan, Garuda Indonesia will continue to optimize the accessibility of flight services. This is done by increasing the frequency and routes according to demand as part of Garuda's efforts to support the mobility of the Indonesian people.

Furthermore, in order to prepare airlines and the aviation industry when various countries are gradually easing regional restrictions, Garuda Indonesia is also testing the IATA Travel Pass application for the Jakarta-Haneda PP flight route.

Irfan said the trial is expected not only to provide convenience for passengers in managing international travel documents, but also to provide certainty and trust for destination countries regarding the validity of health credential documents as required by local authorities.

"Although we project that 2021 will still be a very challenging year for efforts to recover the Company's business performance, we hope that passenger transport traffic as one of the Company's main sources of revenue will gradually increase again in line with the PPKM relaxation policy at the national level as well as the easing of restrictions on community mobility. between countries at the global level," he said.
