JAKARTA - Reserves or supplies of necessities in North Penajam Paser Regency and Paser Regency, East Kalimantan are sufficient to meet the needs of the people in the area until the end of the year.

"The supply is 982 tons of rice, 72 tons of sugar, and 1.3 tons of frozen meat", said Head of Bulog, Tanah Grogot Sub-Branch Office, Paser Regency, Panji Lintang, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 31.

"We are also still waiting for additional supplies of several basic commodities, including flour and cooking oil sent from the central Bulog", he added.

According to Panji Lintang, the availability of necessities is still safe, even sufficient to meet the needs of the people of two districts until the end of the year.

For rice supplies, Bulog Tanah Grogot absorbs rice from local farmers, namely farmers in North Penajam Paser Regency and Paser Regency.

Meanwhile, for basic commodities other than rice, said Panji Lintang, Bulog for the Tanah Grogot Sub-Branch Office always coordinates with central Bulog.

Coordination with the central Bulog is carried out for the delivery of basic goods so that basic needs in the two districts do not experience shortages.

"All commodities of basic needs are sent by sea, and so far there have been no obstacles in the process of sending these staples", he said.

If the delivery of basic commodities is hampered, he said, it is because the production of basic commodities in producing areas is experiencing difficulties or there are certain policies.

The supply of frozen meat was hampered due to the policy of closing access (lockdown) in producing countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Perum Bulog, Tanah Grogot Sub-Branch Office, has the duty and responsibility to maintain price stability and supply of necessities in North Penajam Paser and Paser Regencies.
