JAKARTA - Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, said that there are still quite several higher education institutions in Indonesia that do not fully understand the state financial scheme. In fact, according to him, this institution has an important role in providing knowledge for young people.

“I, as the Minister of Finance, feel that these universities in Indonesia lack an understanding of state finances”, she said as a keynote speaker at the launch of the book "Indonesia 2045" organized by the University of Indonesia, Friday, August 20.

The Minister of Finance thinks that academics on campus do not know comprehensively regarding state administration policies, especially those concerning the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

“There is still a lot that needs to be understood about how the financial system reform is currently being pursued by the government. Then also how from the side of the policymaking, from the side of the macro policy. There are still many who do not know, even at the university level, both from the lecturers and students", he said.

For this reason, the Minister of Finance is very open to the contribution of ideas from the academic community to jointly oversee and provide solutions to the challenges faced.

“This is a very big homework in our education world. Therefore, through independent learning at this time, let's give the best for this nation", he said.

Meanwhile, the launch of the book "Indonesia 2045" itself is claimed to be a manifestation of the contribution of the University of Indonesia (UI) to the thinking of future economic development.

The book that will be launched is the contribution of 15 economists and young practitioners from UI alumni, especially the Faculty of Economics and Business, who represent the millennial generation in seeing Indonesia in the 100 years after independence.

The launch of the Indonesia 2045 Book will be filled with seminar activities with economists and millennial practitioners as speakers to discuss the condition of the Indonesian economy in 2045 and the role of innovation and technology in promoting long-term economic growth.
