President Director of PT Pertamina Gas, Wiko Migantoro said this was in line with the Pertamina group program to support energy distribution including the use of environmentally friendly energy throughout Indonesia.
"This signing not only supports PT WLI's energy needs of around 30 MW, but it is hoped that it will also spur the development of various other industries on Seram Island using natural gas-based energy from Maluku," said Wiko in an official statement, Thursday, August 19.
Meanwhile, WLI's President Director, Karel A. Ralahalu said that the presence of electricity sourced from the use of natural gas in the Seram Non-Bula Oil and Gas Working Area provided a solution for WLI to be able to access cleaner and more efficient energy.
"We really appreciate the efforts of Pertagas and MEA to build energy infrastructure sourced from Maluku's natural gas itself, this really supports WLI's efficiency in terms of energy needs, which is currently estimated to take up 60 percent of the Company's operational costs," said Karel. On the same occasion, the Director of MEA, Mussalam Latuconsina also expressed his support for this collaboration in the momentum of the 76th Maluku Anniversary.
