JAKARTA - Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, said that his party had revoked 300 Operational and Industrial Activity Mobility Permits (IOMKI) during the COVID-19 emergency because they were deemed to have violated health protocols.
"We have revoked 300 IOMKI for companies that do not comply or do not enforce health protocols in their respective industries", he said when holding a virtual press conference with the Coordinating Minister for the Economy on Thursday, August 5.
According to the Minister of Industry, several rules must be followed by business actors to maintain operational permits during the current pandemic.
“Companies are required to fill out the format provided and report to IOMKI periodically, such as how many employees have been vaccinated, how many have tested positive (COVID-19), how many PCR and antigen tests have been carried out. We oblige them to report every Tuesday and Friday", he said.
The Minister of Industry added that as of early August 2021 the number of companies that have pocketed the requirements to operate during the pandemic is 19,903 entities. Meanwhile, IOMKI permits that have been released by the government are recorded at 21,788.
"There are more IOMKI permits because there are companies that have more than one IOMKI permit", he said.
Meanwhile, the number of workers in the manufacturing sector who continued to work during the COVID-19 emergency was known to be 5.77 million people.
