Emergency Community Activity Restrictions Extended, Good News From Jokowi: You Can Eat At A Restaurant, But Only For 30 Minutes

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially continued the implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) until July 25, 2021. According to him, the government always monitors, understands the dynamics on the ground, and listens to the voices of the people affected by the emergency PPKM.

According to him, if the trend of cases continues to decline, then on July 26, 2021, the government will conduct a gradual opening. Traditional markets that sell basic daily needs, are allowed to open until 20.00 p.m. with a capacity of 50 percent of visitors.

Then traditional markets, apart from those selling basic daily needs, are allowed to open until 15:00 p.m. with a maximum capacity of 50 percent, with the implementation of strict health protocols whose arrangements are set by the Regional Government.

"Then street vendors, grocery stores, voucher agents/outlets, barbershops, laundromats, hawkers, small workshops, vehicle washers, and other similar small businesses are allowed to open with strict health protocols until 21.00 p.m. with technical arrangements regulated by the Regional Government", said President Jokowi, when conveying the extension of the Emergency PPKM, Tuesday, July 20.

In addition, food stalls, street vendors, hawker stalls, and the like that have their place of business in an open space are allowed to open with strict health protocols until 21.00 p.m. and a maximum meal time for each visitor is 30 minutes.

"Meanwhile, other activities in essential and critical sectors, both in the government and private sector, as well as related to travel protocols, will be explained separately", said the Head of State.
