JAKARTA - PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPFF) and PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA) managers of Hypermart outlets donated 12 self-isolation packages (isoman) for Jakarta residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Matahari Department Store Commissioner Roy N. Mandey said this step is a clear proof of the company's efforts to overcome the pandemic so that the spread of this epidemic can be controlled immediately so that economic activity can return to normal.

“We really care and share with the community, especially those who are affected and must be isoman. Our brothers and sisters who are self-isolating are certainly unable to carry out mobility. Therefore, it is hoped that this humanitarian aid will be able to meet basic needs and health aspects, especially ahead of Eid al-Adha," he said in an official statement, Monday, July 19.

Roy added that the company has a close relationship with Jakarta residents. The reason is that Matahari, which has now developed into a major player in the country, is a business entity from the original capital that was born and started operating in Pasar Baru, Jakarta in 1958.

"Hopefully this humanitarian assistance, in addition to giving meaning to the community that Matahari is loyal to help the community and also hopes that the synergy with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and the central government can continue to be improved together in our efforts to become fighters and economic drivers," he said

To note, Matahari Department Store and Hypermart are corporations under the auspices of the Lippo Group owned by conglomerate Mochtar Riady.

The two local retailers handed over 7,500 complete food packages containing various basic and health needs, all of which were loaded in 12 tronton trucks.

These basic food packages will be distributed by the DKI Jakarta Social Service to residents undergoing isomanism in 15 urban villages in DKI Jakarta. The handover was directly received by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at the IRTI Monas Square, Jakarta today.
