Good News From Angkasa Pura II: 15,802 Airplane Passengers Have Been Vaccinated With COVID-19

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) stated that the COVID-19 vaccination center by AP II airports on July 3 - 10, 2021 has served vaccinations for 15,802 airplane passengers, of which the most are at the vaccination center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, namely about 11,000 passengers on the plane.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, and plays a vital role in maintaining air connectivity. We have opened two vaccination centers, namely Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 to accommodate prospective airplane passengers who have to travel urgently in the middle of an emergency PPKM," he said. AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin in his statement, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 12.

Muhammad Awaluddin said this vaccination center was aimed at supporting the implementation of the Circular Letter of the Minister of Transportation Number 45 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic which was imposed on the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

In addition, the vaccination center at AP II airport also aims to support the acceleration of the national vaccination program to realize communal immunity in the midst of a pandemic. According to him, the company together with other stakeholders ensure that the provisions in these regulations are always fulfilled properly.

"As our effort to support SE Number 45/2021 in the middle of the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM, AP II airports have opened vaccination service centers so that prospective airplane passengers who have to travel urgently can meet the required health protocols, and the air transportation sector as well. can continue to contribute in maintaining Indonesia's air connectivity," he said.

As is known, in the middle of the Java - Bali Emergency PPKM, prospective airplane passengers must show a vaccination card and PCR test whose samples are taken a maximum of 2x24 hours before departure, for those with the aim of going to/from Java and Bali.

He continued, the operation of vaccination centers at 18 AP II airports until July 10, 2021 ran smoothly thanks to the support of all stakeholders such as the Port Health Office of the Ministry of Health (KKP of the Ministry of Health), airlines, Indonesian Air Force, Police, Health Service, Provincial Government, and so on.

The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Vaccination Center also operates throughout the day serving a 24-hour flight schedule, namely 08.00 - 17.00 WIB and 22.00 - 03.00 WIB (Terminal 2), as well as 08.00 - 17.00 WIB and 20.00 - 01.00 WIB (Terminal 3).

On the other hand, the number of passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport has decreased by around 70 percent per day in the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM compared to before the Emergency PPKM came into effect.

Cumulatively, the number of passenger movements in all airports managed by AP II has decreased by up to 75 percent per day during the Emergency PPKM period.

Muhammad Awaluddin added that airplane passengers who flew during the Emergency PPKM period were indeed only those who had urgent needs.

"Health protocols for airplane passengers are quite strict, so those who travel only have urgent needs. At AP II airports the implementation of SE Menhub Number 45/2021 in the middle of the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM went smoothly and was able to reduce mobility, as seen from the number passenger movements have decreased by 75 percent," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Class I Port Health Office, dr. Darmawali Handoko said that the operation of the vaccination center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was carried out according to procedures.

"The operation of vaccination centers at Terminals 2 and 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is carried out with supervision from the Soekarno-Hatta Class I KKP to support the current health protocol for domestic travelers," said Darmawali.
