Government Collects Rp. 13.5 Trillion From Arrang Sector Auctions, From Mercedes-Benz To Hotels

JAKARTA - The government through the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance has collected Rp13.5 trillion from the auction proceeds of confiscated goods.

"The target (in 2021) is IDR 29 trillion, we have now reached IDR 13.5 trillion per day. Yes, it's almost 50 percent (of the target)," said Director of the DJKN Auction at the Ministry of Finance, Joko Prihanto, during a virtual DJKN discussion, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 18.

Based on DJKN data, this realization increased by almost 24 percent from the auction performance in June 2020 which reached Rp10.91 trillion. The realization, said Joko, came from confiscated goods such as factories, hotels, and antique cars which were transferred from various parties such as the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) and the Attorney General's Office.

"In 2021, the expensive ones are like factory buildings in Bogor, West Java, around Rp. 300 billion. Then there is the Rp600 billion in Pekalongan. There are also hotels worth billions of dollars,” said Joko.

In addition, the Jakarta II State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) on February 16 succeeded in auctioning a Dodge Charger with a limit (minimum value of auction items) of Rp. 99.46 million and selling for Rp. 1.58 billion with an increase of almost 1,600 percent.

Then the Mercedes Benz E 270 CDI, Ferrules, Hydraulic Adapter & Hose Fittings with a limit of Rp. 40.87 million and selling for Rp. 634.87 million with an increase of 1,485 percent which was auctioned on June 17.

Joko hopes that in the second half of 2021 there will be more goods confiscated by DJBC and the Attorney General's Office which can be auctioned at high prices to increase state revenue.

"The big thing is that we sell everything so that this country is not always played by irresponsible mafias," he said.

The auction of goods confiscated by DJBC and the Attorney General's Office is open to the public with a written and or verbal price offer that is increasing or decreasing to reach the highest price preceded by the announcement of the auction.

The auction process is carried out through the www.lelang.co.id website as well as the Indonesian Auction application with the condition that opening an account is to attach an email, ID card, NPWP and savings account.
