JAKARTA - The realization of Indonesian investment reached Rp1,010.6 trillion throughout the first half of 2026. This figure is equivalent to 49.5 percent of this year's investment target of Rp2,041.3 trillion.

Minister of Mineral Resources and Investment and Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani said that the realization of investment from January to June 2026 grew 7.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

"The expenditure or spending that investors in Indonesia have made has reached Rp. 1,010.6 trillion," said Rosan at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, July 16.

The investment absorbed 1,448,862 workers. The number increased by about 15 percent compared to the previous year.

Rosan said the composition of foreign and domestic investment was relatively balanced. Domestic investment or PMDN reached Rp502.9 trillion, while foreign investment or PMA amounted to Rp507.6 trillion.

The distribution of investment between Java and outside Java is also almost the same. Investment in Java reached Rp502.8 trillion or 49.8 percent of the total realization. Meanwhile, outside Java absorbed Rp507.8 trillion.

In the second quarter of 2026, investments were recorded at Rp511.8 trillion or 25.1 percent of the annual target. This figure grew 7.1 percent year-on-year and absorbed 742,263 workers.

Rosan assessed that investor commitment remained strong even though the world was facing geopolitical and geoeconomic pressures.

According to Rosan, investors see Indonesia as relatively stable compared to a number of other countries in Southeast Asia, both in terms of economic growth and political and social conditions.

"If they invest directly, it is a long-term commitment. The stability factor is the key," he said.

Rosan said the government was also trying to provide certainty for permits through Government Regulation Number 28. The regulation sets a time limit for processing permits in 18 ministries and agencies.

If the request is not answered within the agreed time limit, the Investment Ministry can issue a permit according to the applicable mechanism.

The Online Single Submission system or OSS is also being integrated with 18 ministries and agencies. The government plans to add blockchain technology and artificial intelligence to speed up the licensing process.
