JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) again emphasized its commitment to encouraging inclusive and friendly sports for all levels of society through the implementation of the BTN Jakarta International Marathon (BTN JAKIM) 2026.

This commitment is realized through the involvement of runners with disabilities trained by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Indonesia in the 5K category. In this event, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin also became a guide runner for disabled runners along with four BTN Directors, namely the Director of Risk Management BTN Setiyo Wibowo, Director of Information Technology BTN Tan Jacky Chen, Director of Operations BTN I Nyoman Sugiri Yasa, and Director of Corporate Banking BTN Helmy Afrisa Nugroho and 10 representatives of loyal BTN customers.

The presence of the guide runners is a direct form of support for the struggle, spirit, and determination of disabled runners in completing the 5K running race. Through this accompaniment, BTN wants to show that BTN JAKIM is not only a competition event, but also an equal, inclusive, and friendly space for anyone to move, participate, and reach the finish line.

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the involvement of disabled runners proved that running is a sport that can be done by everyone, regardless of background or physical condition.

"Running is an inclusive, inexpensive, and healthy sport because anyone can do it. Friends of disabled runners today show incredible spirit. They prove that everyone has the same opportunity to move, fight, and reach the finish line," said Budi after completing the 5K run at BTN JAKIM 2026, Jakarta, Saturday, June 13.

Budi also appreciated the implementation of BTN JAKIM 2026 which was considered able to encourage people to be more active and carry out a healthy lifestyle. According to him, running events such as BTN JAKIM can be a momentum to build broader exercise habits in the community.

"Now many people are starting to like running. Some are really serious about training, some are initially following trends or FOMO. It doesn't matter, the important thing is that people start moving. With regular exercise, we can maintain body fitness and make the body healthier," said Budi.

BTN Risk Management Director Setiyo Wibowo said the involvement of disabled runners in BTN JAKIM 2026 is part of BTN's commitment to presenting an inclusive, equal, and accessible sports event for anyone. According to him, the spirit of the disabled runners is an inspiration for all participants in BTN JAKIM 2026.

"Being a guide runner for disabled runners gives a very meaningful experience. We not only run together, but also support their struggles and spirits at every step. They show that courage, perseverance, and a spirit of never giving up are values that can inspire us all," said Setiyo.

Setiyo added that the involvement of disabled runners was also a continuation of BTN's commitment after previously holding the BTN Run for Disabilities, Run for Inclusivity with Paralympic athletes in Solo.

"BTN JAKIM we present as an inclusive and friendly running race for anyone, whether professional runners, running communities, beginner runners, the general public, and disabled runners. This spirit is in line with the implementation of BTN ESG, especially in the social aspect, namely presenting a positive impact and equal opportunities for the community," said Setiyo.

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian NPC expressed his appreciation for BTN's support in opening a wider space for runners and athletes with disabilities to participate in national sports activities. Collaborations such as BTN JAKIM are considered capable of increasing public awareness while strengthening the sustainable disability sports ecosystem.

As a form of real support, BTN has also provided assistance in the form of supporting facilities and infrastructure for Paralympic athletes and continues to encourage the involvement of disabled runners in various sports activities.

BTN JAKIM 2026 recorded high enthusiasm with more than 45,000 participants from within and outside the country. The event not only supports the strengthening of Jakarta as a sport tourism destination, but also becomes a momentum to build a culture of healthy, inclusive, and friendly life for all people.
