Jokowi Visits Indonesian Vaccination Center Organized By XL Axiata-RSUI In Depok, 1.000 Injections Are Being Targeted Per Day

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) paid a visit to the University of Indonesia campus in Depok, West Java to take a closer look at the vaccination implementation at the Bangkit Indonesia Vaccination Center, which was organized by PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) and the University of Indonesia Hospital (RSUI).

As is known, this vaccination injection center operated in March 2021. However, the existence of this vaccination center continues to be extended until the end of July 2021.

During the visit, Jokowi witnessed firsthand the injection of vaccinations to the elderly with national ID cards and companions. Jokowi also took the time to see vaccinations carried out by drive-thru at the RSUI Parking Building, as well as by walk-ins that took place inside RSUI.

XL Axiata President Director & CEO Dian Siswarini said that so far the Bangkit Indonesia Vaccination Center has injected COVID-19 vaccines to more than 31.000 people.

In addition to the elderly, 60 years and over, vaccinations have also been given to teachers and lecturers.

Then, injections are also given to volunteers, health human resources, and public servants such as public transportation workers, both motorcycle taxis, and angkot drivers. In a day, said Dian, the vaccination center is capable of injecting up to 1.000 people.

"We are very happy that the Indonesian Vaccination Center Bangkit has so far been able to help the government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic", she said, quoted on Wednesday, June 9.

Dian explained that the vaccination process that took place at the RSUI was carried out in accordance with government directives under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and other authorized institutions. To make it easier for the elderly to get this service, the Depok City Government also carries out a shuttle program for the elderly from various sub-districts.

"For the smooth implementation, every day, this vaccination center gets support from more than 130 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, security officers, and administration. They come from the UI Alumni Association, XL Axiata employees and RSUI medical personnel", she explained.

The Bangkit Indonesia Vaccination Center also received support from a number of XL Axiata partners, namely Benihbaik.com, Protelindo, Tower Bersama Group, Alita. In addition, support also came from the Depok City Health Office, the West Java Provincial Government, and the Depok City Government, as well as the UI Alumni Association.

"Residents who want to take part in vaccination are required to register online through the www.xlaxiata.co.id/indonesiabangkit page by completing personal data validation and verifying the health condition of prospective vaccine participants", she said.

Prior to the injection of the vaccine, participants will undergo a physical condition check carried out according to health standards by the RSUI. The Bangkit Indonesia Vaccination Center operates Monday-Friday (excluding holidays), from 08.00 a.m. to 14.00 p.m. local time every day (maximum arrival at 13.00 p.m.).
