OJK Boss Reveals Need for Large Financing to Chase Economic Growth Target 2027

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi, revealed that Indonesia needs large amounts of financing support to maintain and encourage national economic growth in 2027 which is estimated to reach Rp. 8,600 trillion.

The estimate is based on the calculation of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas to support the national economic growth target of 5.9 percent to 7.5 percent next year.

"Bappenas conveyed that Indonesia needs a fairly large figure for financing, to support our economic growth sector. Maybe around Rp8.600-an trillion if we are not wrong," he said at the National Conference on Regional Economic Development (KNPED), Monday, May 25.

The woman, who is familiarly called Kiki, also encouraged the use of regional bonds as an alternative source of development funding in various regions.

According to him, the instrument has great potential to strengthen regional financing.

In addition to regional bonds, Kiki assessed that the green economic sector also holds promising financing opportunities, especially for regions that have forest areas and environmentally based programs.

"This is also very related to Mr. and Mrs. in the area who have forests, have green programs and others, all of which have economic value that we can promote together," he said.

Furthermore, Kiki added that OJK also sees great opportunities in the development of a safe and ethical digital financial sector.

In addition, he said that strengthening sharia financial services was also a focus of development, especially in areas such as West Sumatra which was considered to have great potential in the development of the sharia economy.

"Then the development of the Islamic financial services sector is also encouraged, this is also certainly areas such as West Sumatra and others also have great potential for the development of the Islamic economy," he concluded.
