JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) has implemented contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek).
The contraflow was carried out on the Japek Toll Road in the direction of Cikampek, specifically at KM 23-28 on Wednesday, May 20, starting at 06.42 WIB.
Traffic engineering is carried out as an effort to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles in the midst of increasing traffic volume and road maintenance activities that are still ongoing on the Japek Toll Road.
Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal PT JTT Ria Marlinda Paallo said that the implementation of contraflow was carried out on a situational basis at the discretion of the police.
"JTT has again imposed contraflow KM 23 to KM 28 towards Cikampek as an effort to reduce vehicle density and maintain traffic flow around the road maintenance work area," said Ria in a written statement, Wednesday, May 20.
Ria said that the volume of vehicles on the ground was also a factor in the implementation of contraflow on a situational basis.
"It will continue to be evaluated to adjust to the conditions of vehicle volume in the field," he said.
JTT apologized for the inconvenience caused by the work and thanked the road users for their patience and understanding.
