JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) has collaborated with PT Energy Absolute Green X Indonesia regarding efforts to accelerate the provision of renewable energy based on 0.5 Mega Watt (MW) Solar Power Plant (PLTS). Later this PLTS will be used to meet the electricity needs of Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives (KDKMP) especially in villages or subdistricts in remote areas.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was carried out by the Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives Ahmad Zabadi and Executive Chairman of PT Energy Absolute Green X Indonesia Justin Joel.
The Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono explained that in the process of forming and establishing KDKMP, it was found that many villages and sub-districts still did not have adequate access to electricity, especially in villages/sub-districts in 3T (Left Behind, Leading, and Outer). In fact, for the operationalization of KDKMP, stable electricity availability is needed so that the business processes carried out can run more smoothly.
"With the use of solar-based energy, we can solve problems in villages in terms of access to electricity where the number of villages with limited access to electricity is not small," said Ferry, quoted Tuesday, April 21.
He appreciated PT Energy Absolute Green X Indonesia for the commitment to be given in supporting the operationalization of KDKMP. The MoU agreed upon includes the preparation of a comprehensive study related to the construction and operation of a solar energy-based energy system integrated with energy storage.
Ferry hopes that this agreement can be immediately followed up with a real pilot project so that it can be replicated massively for various regions in Indonesia. He assessed that the use of PLTS is a logical solution in efforts to meet the electricity needs in villages or sub-districts that still have limited access to electricity.
"Hopefully, with this cooperation, it can help achieve the President's target to achieve energy self-sufficiency. This solar power plant can be managed and utilized by cooperatives, especially KDKMP," he said.
Ferry alluded that the implementation of the use of micro-scale PLTS had previously been tested between the Ministry of Home Affairs and PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (NRE) on Sembur Island, Galang Baru Village, Batam City, Riau Islands. In this pilot project, a PLTS with a capacity of 100 Watts was launched.
He hopes that the efforts made by the Ministry of Home Affairs with various parties can become a stepping stone so that the acceleration of the development of renewable energy, especially to support the operationalization of KDKMP, can be more massive. The Ministry of Home Affairs opens up a wide range of opportunities for various parties who want to be involved in efforts to accelerate the provision of electricity for villages or sub-districts that still have limited access to electricity in order to support the operationalization of KDKMP.
Meanwhile, Executive Chairman of PT Energy Absolute Green X Indonesia Justin Joel emphasized that this initiative is a long-term strategic step in building the foundation of Indonesia's future economy.
"This is not just an energy project - it is a strategic step to build the foundation of Indonesia's future economy. We see cooperatives as a platform that has tremendous potential to drive energy transformation while opening up wider and more inclusive investment access throughout Indonesia," he said.
In this cooperation, PT Energy Absolute GreenX Indonesia will act as a strategic partner in providing technical expertise, technology development, and investment support in the renewable energy sector. This approach is expected to ensure that the implementation of the program runs effectively, sustainably, and has a strong business model.
