JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) revealed that as many as 10 toll roads that were functional during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return period had served more than 1 million road users.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said the total length of the toll road that was opened for free reached 291 kilometers (km).

This was conveyed by Dody in a Working Meeting with Commission V of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, April 13.

"Actually, to anticipate the surge during the homecoming and (back) Lebaran, we have added 10 functional toll roads along 291 km and thank God the results are quite significant, we can serve more than 1 million vehicles. This means that the flexibility of the toll road network is the key," he said.

In detail, the sections that are functional during the Lebaran homecoming period 2026, namely the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road along 24.67 km; Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road along 12.86 km; Palembang-Betung Toll Road along 53.2 km; Serang-Panimbang Toll Road along 24.17 km; and Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road along 4.97 km.

Then, there is the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road along 4.98 km; the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Toll Road along 52 km; the Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Toll Road along 12.23 km; the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road along 49.68 km; and the IKN Toll Access along 52.37 km.

According to Dody, the Trans Java Toll still dominates the movement of travelers during the 2026 Lebaran holiday. "If we look at the movement pattern, there is one thing that is very clear, (toll) Trans Java remains the main backbone," said Dody.

"Of the total 76 toll roads that are operational, the largest concentration of road users during the Lebaran homecoming period yesterday was on 44 main roads. "This is not just about the length of the road, but about the distribution of volume," he said.

With this structure, according to Dody, in general the flow of homecoming and return trips is more controlled.

At least, there were 3.25 million vehicles leaving Jakarta during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period and about 3 million vehicles returning during the return flow. Meanwhile, peak traffic reached 270,000 vehicles on H-3 Lebaran 2026.

"However, with cooperation between ministries/institutions and also with the Toll Road Business Entities, led by Jasa Marga and also the policy of toll rate discounts, logistics restrictions, have succeeded in reducing this pressure," explained Dody.

"One way, for example, is to keep the travel time stable and most importantly, the fatality rate has dropped significantly," he concluded.
