JAKARTA - The government is speeding up the construction of apartment houses (rusun) for residents along the Pasar Senen railway, as part of efforts to arrange residential areas and improve the quality of people's housing. This project is targeted to be completed in June 2026.
Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar Sirait or Ara emphasized that the government is now focusing on the target of completion, not on the initial stage of construction.
"We don't talk about the beginning, we talk about the completion. The completion is on June 15, 2026 in Senen, in Kramat, it is the land of Angkasa Pura, there are 300 units," he said in a press conference at the BP BUMN office, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 1.
In addition to the Senen Market, continued Ara, the government also set a similar target for the construction of flats for around 500 residents along the railway in the Tanah Abang area.
Ara appreciated the cross-agency support, which was considered to be moving quickly in encouraging the realization of the program, including from KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, President Director of Angkasa Pura Indonesia Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi, Presidential Chief of Staff Muhammad Qodari, and Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti.
"Today I feel really happy because I got super fast support, not even an hour (fast) quickly and effectively," he said.
Furthermore, Ara said the government also opened opportunities for collaboration with the private sector to accelerate the construction of flats. The scheme prepared is the use of assets owned by SOEs with financing support from the private sector through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
"We are also building collaboration between KAI and the private sector in the context that the land still belongs to KAI, but later the private sector will build CSR," said Ara.
State-Owned Asset Optimization
Meanwhile, the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP) Dony Oskaria said SOEs were ready to optimize their assets to support government programs.
"It has already been produced, there is land from Angkasa Pura and also KAI that we will develop for all our people and there are still many more lands that we see," said Dony.
Furthermore, Dony said, this program is a form of support from SOEs for President Prabowo Subianto's program.
He hopes that this program can run well.
"We are also mapping all our assets, especially in cities that need housing development as quickly as possible," said Dony.
The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Muhammad Qodari also welcomed the collaboration from the Ministry of PKP with BP BUMN as an implementation of government entrepreneurship.
In addition, Qodari said the government also encouraged the expansion of the housing development program to other major cities in Indonesia.
He said that KAI and Angkasa Pura land assets can be utilized in reducing the national backlog rate.
"With this collaboration, it will be resolved by God's will, not only one point in Senen, but also many other points. There are big cities that actually need development or housing support because the backlog is also the largest data," said Qodari.
