Prabowo's instructions to Dody Hanggodo since being elected Minister: Clean the PU Ministry

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed that President Prabowo Subianto only gave one order since the first day he was called to become a minister, namely cleaning the ministry's internal affairs.

Dody emphasized that the main focus ordered was not just building roads or bridges, but bureaucratic cleaning. This is the reason why at first the PU Ministry was given a very limited budget.

"At the beginning (the Ministry of PU), it was only given a super mini budget. The target is only one, clean, not asked to build a road bridge, not, at all," said Dody at the PU Ministry's office, Jakarta, Friday, March 6.

Dody emphasized that the role of his ministry as a general assistant to the state requires infrastructure support to be able to work optimally. However, he noted that the role must be carried out with high integrity.

"The assistant, if he is asked to work, must be given money. If you don't give money, it's impossible to work, it's called a maid. Well, that's it. It's just that now the maid is integral," he said.

He stated that he would no longer tolerate the bad habits of employees or officials. Dody criticized the behavior of individuals who felt that the problem was only solved by returning the funds that had been embezzled, let alone being paid in installments until retirement.

He will look into the legal delicts of each offense in depth. If it is proven to be serious, he will not hesitate to carry out an honorable dismissal and drag it into the criminal realm in order to ensure that every rupiah of the budget provides maximum benefits for the community.

"So, I think from the previous government it has been enough to give flexibility and today we want the budget of Rp. 100 that the President gave to me, I can give to the people Rp. 110," he explained.

Therefore, Dody is fully committed to stopping all forms of budget leakage, looking at the findings of state losses of IDR 1 trillion which were recently revealed by the Financial Audit Agency (BPK).

Dody admitted that he was furious to see that the m figure could still be arrogant even though he had only returned a small portion of the billions of rupiah in funds that had been embezzled, while the people were having trouble.

As a concrete step, Dody began taking drastic action in collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office. He ensured that in the future there would be no more leniency for budget deviants.

"I have started hard, I will be even harder. I want to show all my friends here, I am trying to carry out President Prabowo Subianto's orders," he added.
