JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in oilfield recovery with Halliburton.

For information, this agreement is part of 11 investment memorandums of understanding signed by the Indonesian government with business actors during the Indonesia-US Business Summit held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Washington D.C, United States, on Wednesday, February 18.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri emphasized that the cooperation with Halliburton is a strategic step to strengthen national energy resilience through the optimization of domestic oil and gas production.

"Oilfield recovery is expected to help Pertamina in maximizing national oil production, especially domestic oil and gas fields that have experienced a natural decline in production," said Simon, quoted on Monday, February 23.

Simon added that this collaboration not only focuses on increasing production, but also on technology transfer, improving human resource capabilities, and the implementation of global standard operating practices. According to him, synergy with internationally reputable partners will accelerate the implementation of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology and more efficient and sustainable drilling solutions.

"This cooperation is part of Pertamina's sustainable transformation to maintain upstream production sustainability, increase national lifting, and ensure energy availability for communities and industries. With the support of global technology and experience, we are optimistic that mature fields can again contribute significantly to national production," said Simon.
