"This activity reflects the shared awareness that environmental sustainability is an important foundation for economic sustainability and community welfare."
"The challenge of waste management cannot be solved by one party, but also requires strong collaboration between the government, business, community, and society," Okki said in a written statement.
According to Okki, Bali has a strategic role as a national and international tourism destination so that environmental cleanliness, especially coastal areas, must be maintained consistently.
The effort is considered as a long-term investment for the sustainability of tourism and the regional economy.
"Preserving the earth is no longer an option, but a necessity. Coastal cleanliness is an important part of maintaining Bali's image and tourism competitiveness," he said.
