JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has deployed 14 excavators to accelerate the process of evacuating victims and handling the impact of landslides in Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo explained that the heavy equipment support from the PU Ministry is currently working in the field, both in the A1 and A2 evacuation areas. In detail, the DKI Jakarta-West Java National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN) has deployed eight excavators, consisting of six PC 75 excavators and two PC 200 excavators.
Then, the mobilization of heavy equipment was also carried out by the Citarum River Basin Agency (BBWS) by deploying five units of excavators, consisting of two PC 55 excavator units and three PC 200 excavator units that have been working in the A1 evacuation area. Additional support was also provided by the Cimanuk-Cisanggarung BBWS through the deployment of one PC 55 mini excavator.
"All of these tools are currently operating in the evacuation area to help the search and handling of landslide material," Dody said in a written statement, Monday, February 2.
In addition to heavy equipment, the PU Ministry also sent five water pumps (alkon) with a capacity of 16.7 liters per second and one water tank car with a capacity of 5,000 liters to support mud cleaning and water needs at the disaster site.
Additional support was also provided by BBWS Cimanuk-Cisanggarung through the delivery of two water pumps that had been at the location to help handle the puddles and mud caused by the landslide.
To ensure basic needs at the evacuation site, the PU Ministry through the Building, Infrastructure and Area Arrangement Office (BPBPK) West Java also coordinated with the West Java Provincial Government in providing 10 units of public hydrants with a capacity of 2,000 liters, seven portable toilet units, two water tank cars with a capacity of 4,000 liters and two emergency housing tents for affected residents.
Based on Basarnas data as of Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 18.00 WIB, the number of victims affected was recorded as 158 people, with 78 people successfully evacuated.
Currently, the search process is still being carried out for about six people who have not been found.
