JAKARTA - Jenderal Besar Airport (JB) Sudirman in Central Java will serve two flight routes starting June 3, 2021, said Purbalingga Regent Dyah Hayuning Pratiwi.

"Starting June 3, 2021, commercial flights will be carried out at JB Sudirman Airport, Wirasaba, Purbalingga Regency, by serving two flight routes," he said in Purbalingga, quoted from Antara, Monday, May 31.

Meanwhile, the Regent also added that JB Sudirman Airport is ready to operate from June 1, 2021.

"The agenda for the operation of JB Sudirman Airport on June 1, 2021 is a 'proving flight' or a proof flight in a series of trials towards the operation of JB Sudirman Airport with the Surabaya route to Purbalingga," he said.

Meanwhile, on June 3, 2021, he added, is the schedule for the opening of the first commercial flight at JB Sudirman Airport, with the Purbalingga route to Jakarta and Purbalingga to Surabaya, and vice versa.

The Regent added that to support the operational preparation of the airport, on Friday, May 28, a simulation of passenger service was carried out in order to welcome commercial flights.

"We have also reviewed the readiness to activate airport operations," he said.

The Regent added that based on the results of the review, it was known that various preparations had been going well and smoothly.

"So far everything has gone smoothly and it is hoped that it will continue smoothly until the inaugural flight schedule," he said.

Meanwhile, Station Manager Citilink Purbalingga Muhamad Mulyanudin added that for the inaugural flight on June 3, 2021, the ticket sales rate was almost 50 percent.

"While only serving the Purbalingga - Jakarta and Purbalingga - Surabaya flight routes and vice versa, twice a week, every Thursday and Saturday," he said.

He is optimistic that the interest of prospective passengers is high, so it is possible that later the frequency of flight schedules will be increased.

"If passenger interest continues to increase, there is a possibility that later the frequency of flight schedules will be increased," he said.
