JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) as a strategic partner of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) is trying to accelerate the completion of the Jakarta Sewerage System (JSS) Package 3.

Until the reporting period of January 2026, the physical progress of the project had reached 50.26 percent.

WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito emphasized that the essence of the project is a long-term contribution to the nation.

According to him, the development of urban sanitation systems such as JSS is an important foundation for the quality of life of the community and the sustainability of the Jakarta environment.

"Through the JSS Package 3 Project, we are committed to providing reliable, safe and environmentally friendly infrastructure as a tangible form of support for Astacita, especially in improving the quality of the community's environmental health and the development of equitable and sustainable basic infrastructure," said Agung Budi quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, January 21.

In the project, the company did not use the conventional open pit method which risks paralyzing traffic, but adopted the Pipe Jacking method.

The method is a mini tunnel drilling technique, in which the pipe is pushed into the ground from a departure shaft. With this technology, the disturbance to the road surface is minimized significantly.

In project control, WIKA also utilizes digital technology as part of the construction transformation.

The implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is used to integrate the design of the pipe network with existing utilities, so that potential conflicts can be minimized from the planning stage.

In addition, the utilization of real-time data from heavy equipment and tunneling machines becomes the basis for more accurate decision-making in controlling project time, quality, and resources.

As a project that is oriented towards improving the quality of the environment, JSS Package 3 is carried out with strict Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.

The use of silent piler technology is used to reduce noise and vibration in densely populated residential areas.

"Through the implementation of construction innovation, digitization, and sustainable development practices, we are optimistic that the JSS Package 3 Project can be completed on time with the best quality," he added.
