Aircraft Inspection History
Lukman said the ATR 42-500 aircraft also underwent a number of important inspections, including a ramp check on November 19, 2025 in Manado, an extension of the airworthiness certificate on September 3, 2025, and a maintenance inspection by IAT operator on December 25, 2025.
Although the technical and health conditions were recorded to meet the standards, the Ministry of Transportation emphasized that it could not draw conclusions about the cause of the incident.
"All aspects related to the investigation process, including the factors causing the plane crash, are entirely the responsibility of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT)," he said.
Lukman also said that initial indications showed that the weather conditions at the flight time were relatively good with a visibility of eight kilometers and a little cloudy. The follow-up data was submitted to KNKT and BMKG for analysis.
Furthermore, Lukman asked the public to be patient in waiting for the results of the official investigation and not to speculate or believe in reports that are not credible.
"The evacuation process is still being carried out by Basarnas together with the combined elements of the TNI/Polri and the support of the local community. Basarnas has established the Topo Bulu Post which is about 4.6 kilometers from the accident location," he said.
