The Reason For Choosing Abdee Slank As A Telkom Commissioner According To Erick Thohir As Conveyed By Atya Sinulingga

JAKARTA - The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) on Friday 29 May decided to reshuffle the ranks of the Commissioners. One of the new faces in Telkom's board of commissioners is Abdi Negara Nurdin or known as Abdee Slank.

Yes, Abdee is the guitarist of the famous band, Slank. This 51-year-old man has been a member of Slank since 1997 and continues to this day.

So, what is the reason for the appointment of Abdee 'Slank' as Commissioner of Telkom? Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, Arya Sinulingga, explained that the appointment of Abdee as commissioner was because the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, wanted Telkom to further strengthen content.

"Abdee Slank or Abdi Negara, he was included because Mr. Erick wants to encourage Telkom to get more into content. We know that Telkom is still not strong in content and this needs to be strengthened in the future. Later this servant will help Telkom to be strong in content that is sold to the public ," said Arya Sinulingga when confirmed by reporters, Saturday, May 29.

Arya further said that the figure of Abdee Slank will help Telkom to have content that can sell to the public. Moreover, according to him, Abdee is an artist.

Besides Abdee Slank, a newcomer to Telkom's board of commissioners is Bambang Brodjonegoro. The former Minister of Research and Technology (Menristek) was appointed as President Commissioner (Komut) of Telkom.

In addition, Erick appointed the Director General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance Isa Rachmatarwata and Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga as the parent commissioners of Telkomsel.
