Touching Message From Anwar Bessy To Indomaret Management: I Want To Work Again

JAKARTA - PT Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret) employee Anwar Bessy admits that he wants to work again. Anwar was an employee who was convicted of destroying office facilities during a protest action regarding the payment of holiday allowances (THR) in 2020.

"I want to work again and I want PT Indomarco Prismatama's demands on me to be withdrawn," he said in a virtual KSPI press conference, Friday, May 28.

Not only that, Anwar hopes that there will be rules between workers and Indomaret management. The goal is that there is no more intimidation at work.

"Our hope is that in the future, there will be no intimidation from superiors," he said.

On the same occasion, President of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal said there were four charges against the Indomaret case with Anwar Bessy.

First, free Anwar Bessy.

"That gypsum is only 20 centimeters (cm), (the price is) Rp50,000. Why do you have to go to prison at the end to fight for the THR in accordance with the company memorandum. Free Anwar Bessy," said Iqbal.

Second, reinstate Anwar Bessy in his original place. Third, ask the management of the Indomaret group including Indomarco to comply with the contents of company regulations and the memorandum that has been prepared including the THR.

"The work of Anwar Bessy does not mean that the THR demands will not be fought for. Comply with company regulations, company memoranda, why are they being violated themselves," he said.

Finally, KSPI and the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) asked the Ministry of Manpower to assist in the supervision of collective labor agreements.

"Making a collective work agreement or PKB which is negotiated between Indomaret workers' unions from each region. Gather later representatives and these are all FSPMI members, of course FSPMI can be involved in it and the Indomaret group management negotiates," he said.

Iqbal said the goal was to create a PKB so that the Anwar Bessy case would not happen again. Including, preventing companies from committing crimes against employees.

"A little bit of a crime, a little bit of a crime. How come a little bit of a crime, that's the punishment. We don't want to conflict with Indomaret. Indomaret is an asset of the Republic of Indonesia where the fields of FSPMI members work for the Indomaret group. about fighting greed, "he explained.
