JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has expressed its support for the government's target through the Nusantara Energy Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara Indonesia in providing 15,000 Danantara Housing (Huntara) for disaster-affected people in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. This effort is in line with the government's commitment to provide decent and dignified housing for disaster victims as a tangible manifestation of the state's presence.

One form of support is realized through BNI's participation in the construction of Huntara in Aceh Tamiang Regency. In the first phase, out of a total of 600 Huntara units built in the region, BNI contributed around 20 percent or as many as 120 housing units.

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto together with Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani, COO Danantara Indonesia Dony Oskaria, and Managing Director of Stakeholder Management Danantara Indonesia Rohan Hafas conducted a direct review of the readiness of Danantara Housing to be immediately inhabited by disaster-affected communities on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

The review was also attended by the heads of SOEs involved in the construction of Danantara Housing, including BNI Information Technology Director Toto Prasetio.

In his instructions on site, President Prabowo emphasized that the acceleration of the development of Huntara was a tangible form of the state's presence in protecting and assisting people affected by disasters. The President emphasized the importance of synergy between SOEs under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia so that post-disaster handling can run quickly, effectively, and integrated.

The President also assessed the construction of Huntara which could be completed in a short time as an achievement that should be appreciated. According to him, the fast work reflects the seriousness of the government in ensuring that affected people immediately get a decent place to live.

In addition to housing, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of accelerating the recovery of basic services for affected people, including the functions of schools, health centers, and hospitals so that they can immediately resume operations.

"I also ask for attention that if possible, schools should also be considered, as well as health centers and hospitals so that they can function as soon as possible," said Prabowo.

Previously, Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani reported that the construction of Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang had entered the final stage and was ready to be handed over to the local government. The first phase of the handover of 600 units of Danantara Housing is scheduled for January 8, 2026.

Apart from residential units, the Danantara Residential area is also equipped with various supporting facilities, including playgrounds, WiFi networks, prayer rooms, public facilities, as well as bathrooms and sanitation.

"The target for the construction of the Danantara Housing House in Aceh Tamiang has been set since the beginning, and the achievement as of January 1, 2026 shows the strong commitment of all parties to meet it. SOEs are moving quickly in the field in a difficult condition to ensure that the community immediately gets a decent home," said Rosan.

Rosan added that in the next three months Danantara targets the completion of a total of 15,000 Danantara Housing units spread across three provinces, namely around 12,000 units in Aceh, around 2,000 units in South Tapanuli and Central Tapanuli, and around 500 units in West Sumatra.

On the same occasion, Danantara Indonesia COO Dony Oskaria highlighted the discipline of execution and the intensity of state-owned enterprises' work in pursuing tight time targets.

"The construction of the Danantara Housing House was carried out within a very limited time frame. SOEs work with high intensity, ranging from accelerating construction, procurement of materials, to simultaneous quality supervision so that the target can be achieved before the beginning of the year," explained Dony.

Separately, BNI Information Technology Director Toto Prasetio said BNI's involvement in the construction of Huntara was part of the company's commitment to supporting the acceleration of post-disaster handling so that affected people could immediately obtain a decent, safe, and humane place to live.

He explained that BNI's contribution was part of the synergy of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Family through the BUMN Peduli Satu Hati program for Sumatra under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia, which was directed to ensure that humanitarian assistance was delivered quickly, measured, and targeted.

The construction of the Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang was carried out through a collaboration of BUMN works coordinated by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the implementing coordinator. The construction location is on Jalan Banda Aceh-Medan, Kebun Tanjung Seumantoh, Karang Baru District, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

"BNI's support is not only focused on the physical development of housing, but also becomes part of the effort to restore the social and economic recovery of affected communities so that they can gradually rise," said Toto.

Going forward, BNI emphasized that it would continue to provide assistance during the construction process of the Danantara Housing and the post-disaster recovery phase, to ensure that rehabilitation is carried out in an integrated, sustainable manner, and has a real impact on affected communities.
