JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that until now there are still 4 districts in Aceh whose electricity systems have not recovered completely. However, he ensured that Banda Aceh was 100 percent lit.
"We have to convey the latest data, that Banda Aceh last night, thank God, is normal according to what happened before the disaster. 120 megawatts (MW) in Banda Aceh are all on," Bahlil told the media, Friday, December 19.
He detailed that the four districts include Aceh Tamiang, Bener Meriah, Gayo, and Central Aceh. Bahlil explained that the reason behind the recovery obstacle was among others the electricity network infrastructure that had not been completed for low voltage.
"Some of the roads that have just been completed, there are some areas that are still flooded. Even if it (the electricity) is turned on, it will have an impact on the safety of our brothers and sisters there," continued Bahlil.
Previously, PT PLN (Persero) reported that it had succeeded in gradually restoring the Aceh electricity system after connecting it back to the Sumatra main system.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, said that in addition to Banda Aceh, gradually PLN continued to restore electricity supply for customers in other areas, including flood-affected locations and landslides. PLN also intensively coordinates with local governments and stakeholders to ensure optimal electricity services.
"Our personnel continue to work to accelerate recovery so that all areas in Aceh can recover completely. We are also on standby 24 hours a day in the field to respond quickly to any potential disruptions," continued Darmawan.
PLN expressed its appreciation for the support of the community and all parties during the recovery process.
"In the future, PLN is committed to continuing to provide reliable, safe, and sustainable electricity services for the community," said Darmawan.
