JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) revealed that the Buddhist Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation owned by Sugianto Kusuma alias Aguan will build 2,000 houses for victims affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra.
This was conveyed by Ara when met by reporters after holding a meeting with the Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas regarding the Draft Ministerial Decree on Limitations & Criteria for Subsidized Houses and Flats at the Ministry of Law, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 10.
"We are happy, yes, there has been a commitment from the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation (building) 2,000 (houses) to help our brothers and sisters in Sumatra," said Ara.
Ara said that later this would be reported to President Prabowo Subianto. "Later on, I will report it to the President (Prabowo). (The point is) we have started this mutual cooperation," he added.
However, Ara did not reveal when the plan to build the house began and how much the budget was.
