PU Minister Dody Hanggodo Ensures National Roads In Langkat Return To Normal After Flooding

The Ministry of Public Works (PU) ensures that national roads in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, return to normal after the flood disaster in the area.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that infrastructure preparedness and ministry resources are an important part in supporting disaster management in various regions.

"We ensure that equipment support from technical halls can be moved whenever necessary, including to open access and assist the evacuation process," said Dody as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, December 7.

The Ministry of Public Works continues to provide support for the handling of national road infrastructure after the flood disaster that hit Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

Based on the results of the latest monitoring in the field, the condition of the national road across Medan "Batas Aceh" and the Medan "Pangkalan Brandan" toll road is now safe again and can be passed by vehicles normally.

Floods that previously submerged a number of points have now completely receded. The city of Tanjung Pura, which had been the last location of the inundation, was also reported to have receded, even though the road was still in the drying stage.

All affected roads have now returned to normal functioning and can be used by the community to support daily activities and logistics distribution.

The acceleration of this handling is part of President Prabowo Subianto's direct direction so that all elements of the government move quickly, integratedly and responsively in handling disasters on the island of Sumatra.

Sebagai bagian dari upaya pemulihan, Kementerian PU melalui Balai Besar Pelaksanaan Jalan Nasional (BBPJN) Sumatera Utara terus melaksanakan pekerjaan penanganan di lapangan, meliputi pembersihan material sisa banjir di badan jalan serta pengembalian kondisi jalan melalui penutupan lubang-lubang yang berpotensi membahayakan pengguna jalan.

Langkah ini dilakukan untuk memastikan keselamatan dan kenyamanan pengguna jalan tetap terjaga.

As part of the recovery effort, the Ministry of Public Works through the North Sumatra National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) continues to carry out handling work in the field, including cleaning up the remaining materials of flooding on the road and returning road conditions through the closure of potholes that have the potential to endanger road users.

This step is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of road users is maintained.
