JAKARTA - The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (KemenUMKM) together with Deltras FC are exploring collaboration to develop micro and small businesses in the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium area, East Java.
"This step is part of the implementation of the three ministries MoU regarding the management of stadiums and the surrounding area by football clubs," said Expert Minister for Partnership at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Budi Setiawan, Friday, December 5.
He explained that this collaboration is a form of affirmative action from the MoU between the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The collaboration follows up on the Ministry of Home Affairs Circular regarding optimization of the utilization of soccer stadiums and organizing sports in the regions.
"This collaboration focuses on optimizing the use of stadiums and the surrounding area. The goal is to present mutually strengthening economic values between football clubs and micro, small and medium entrepreneurs who are active in the stadium ecosystem," continued Budi.
He added that there are 20 stadiums throughout Indonesia that are included in this cooperation scheme. According to him, the management strategy will involve MSMEs from the supporter community and non-supporter communities. Both are considered to have an important role in the football club ecosystem.
Many supporters are also MSME entrepreneurs. Involving them is part of the club's responsibility in fostering and increasing micro business capacity. Meanwhile, non-supporter MSMEs are partners or third parties who have or will cooperate with the club," said Budi.
This collaboration is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of National Football Development and Circular Letter of the Ministry of Home Affairs Number 400.2/2612/SJ regarding the utilization of stadiums and the implementation of sports in the regions.
The CEO of Deltras FC, Amir Burhanuddin, welcomed this collaboration plan and considered that this kind of management model has the potential to become a national reference.
If the development of MSMEs in this stadium goes well, Deltras can be a pioneer for other regions. There are quite a lot of stadiums in Indonesia, and the success of one model can be an inspiration for clubs and other MSMEs," he said.
