PT PLN (Persero) and the Indonesian Air Force sent emergency tower materials for the recovery of electricity networks in the post-flood electricity system in Aceh.

This material shipment used a Hercules plane from Jakarta and managed to land at Iskandar Muda Air Base, Aceh at around 11.45 WIB and immediately unloaded the cargo to build emergency towers at affected locations.

"This afternoon, one batch of emergency tower materials has landed safely in Aceh and will soon be taken to the point of damage using helicopters to speed up the process of building an emergency tower," said General Manager of PLN Aceh's Main Distribution Unit (UID), Eddi Saputra, Thursday, November 27.

Eddi said that as a result of tracing the location of the affected High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) network, PLN found more damage to the tower. If previously indicated that 5 transmission towers collapsed, now 12 towers were damaged in several SUTT 150KV transmission lines, namely the Bireun-Arun route, the Brandan-Langsa route and the Peusangan-Bireun route.

Furthermore, Eddi explained that rapid and accurate mobilization is a crucial step in efforts to restore the main affected transmission network.

"Initially we recorded that five towers collapsed, but due to the continuing extreme weather, the number increased to a total of twelve damaged towers. This condition makes us have to increase the volume of materials and accelerate distribution to locations," said Eddi.

On this occasion, PLN appreciated the support from the Indonesian Air Force to send the needed supporting materials more quickly.

"Collaboration with the Indonesian Air Force through material shipments using Hercules aircraft is very helpful, especially to reach locations that cannot be penetrated by land. Once material arrives, the team immediately moves to send it to priority points for the construction of emergency towers," he explained.

PLN has also increased the number of field personnel from scattered units to strengthen network security, handling disturbances, and accelerate temporary structure development. In addition, intensive coordination is carried out with local governments, the TNI' Police, and BPBD so that the entire recovery process runs safely and integrated.

"We continue to work 24 hours to restore the system and ensure services to the community can return to normal as soon as possible," he added.

PLN appealed to the community around the affected areas to remain careful and stay away from the work zone for the sake of mutual safety.

"Information of disturbances can be reported through the PLN Mobile application so that officers can immediately follow up," said Eddy.
