Offtake Tendes Becomes The Milestone Of Reliability Of Gas Supply For Industry And Households In Surabaya

SURABAYA Offtake Tandes is a strategic infrastructure of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) in receiving natural gas supplyer transporters to be distributed to customers in the Surabaya region.

PGN Surabaya Area Head Arief Nurrachman representing General Manager PGN SOR III explained, through this facility, natural gas received is also adjusted to the pressure to match the needs of final customers.

"Offtake Tandes maintains the reliability of natural gas distribution with a team on standby 24 hours. This offtake also has accurate natural gas measurement features. Even during maintenance, natural gas is still measured real time and carefully with international standard technology, so that the volume of natural gas flowing to customers is always accurate and accountable," explained Arief, Thursday, November 27.

Located in the Dumar Industri area, Offtake Tandes processes around 10MMSCFD (daily volume) and becomes one of the important infrastructures in serving customers in Surabaya and its surroundings such as households of approximately 59,000 Home Connections (SR) and 255 industries.

In addition, he continued, Offtake Tandes plays a role in filtering natural gas to maintain the quality of natural gas distributed to customers. Given that natural gas from suppliers still contains followers or condensates, so it must be filtered again so that natural gas distributed to customers becomes cleaner.

Components of followers that were filtered and unused were transferred to B3 waste and further processed according to procedures if they wanted to be reused.

"There are also important components related to advanced safety and security, so that if an incident occurs, it can be handled quickly and safely, as well as minimize risks for customers," explained Arief.

Another safety component is the addition of a feeder or a bribe to natural gas that has been filtered. This logging substance is important so that natural gas is easily identified, especially in order to detect leaks, because basically, natural gas does not have so it must be added to the thruster.

For information, Tandes is one of six PGN offtake stations in the operational area of Sales Operation & Region III (SOR III), which includes Central Java, East Java and Eastern Indonesia. The number of SOR III customers is 207,292, with volima distribution of natural gas ranging from 245 BBTUD.

PGN SOR III is active in expanding distribution networks through the construction of new pipes and optimizing gas supply from various sources. Currently, the distribution network of PGN in the SOR III region reaches 6,807 km.
