Shell Affirms Still Negotiating Final Stage With Pertamina

JAKARTA - Shell Indonesia revealed that the process of purchasing pure fuel or base fuel from Pertamina Patra Niaga has entered its final stage. In fact, previously the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources stated that Shell had agreed to buy a base fuel of 100,000 barrels.

President Director & Managing Director of Mobility Shell Indonesia Ingrid Siburian emphasized that until now the process of discussing business to business is still ongoing.

"Shell Indonesia wants to inform you that currently the discussion of business-to-business (B2B) related to the supply of import base fuel from Pertamina Patra Niaga is entering its final stage," said Inggid sat confirmed by VOI, Thursday, November 27.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung revealed that Shell Indonesia had agreed to buy pure fuel or base fuel from Pertamina Patra Niaga in the amount of 100,000 barrels.

"Approximately 100,000 barrels," said Yuliot to the media crew, Tuesday, November 25.

He added that the two business entities agreed to hand over fuel on November 24 or 25, 2025.

"This is planned, on the 24th or 25th, it has arrived at the handover point agreed between Pertamina and Shell," said Yuliot.

Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Laode Sulaeman also revealed that Shell Indonesia had agreed to buy a base fuel from Pertamina. Thus, the supply of fuel at gas stations with the shell logo will begin to be filled by the end of this month.

"Shell has final negotiations," Laode told the media crew, quoted on Tuesday, November 25.

Laode said, currently the cargo containing pure fuel for Shell through has entered the preparation stage to be dispatched to Indonesia. However, Laode did not reveal how much fuel Pertamina supplied to gas stations bearing this shell logo.
