JAKARTA - The Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Bimo Wijayanto stated that until November 24, 2025, his party received tax arrears payments of Rp. 11.99 trillion from 106 taxpayers.
He said the government was intensifying tax collection from the 201 largest tax evader entities, with a target of reaching IDR 20 trillion by December 2025.
His party has prepared a number of strategies to accelerate the realization.
"The way, of course (with) active collection actions, then there is a task force (task unit) also for handling tax crimes, as well as synergy and cooperation (cross ministries and institutions)," said Bimo quoting Antara.
He stated that one of the keys to the success of the collection was the integration of comparative data, for example tax arrears data with non-tax state revenue data (PNBP), especially in the extractive sector such as minerals and coal (minerba).
Through this method, officers can see the suitability between the reported production volume for PNBP payments with unpaid tax obligations, for then cross-check confirmation.
Bimo said the collection effort also involved the Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administration (Jamdatun) and the Attorney General's Asset Recovery Agency (AGO).
His party also exchanged information as well as reports on analysis results regarding suspicious financial transactions with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
He assessed that collaboration with law enforcement officials is important to strengthen asset tracking capabilities (asset tracing) which are often obstacles in the confiscation process.
Bimo stated that the government did not hesitate to take firm steps in the form of confiscation of assets if taxpayers were not cooperative in paying off their obligations.

Meanwhile, for confiscated assets that are difficult to sell due to market prices or outdated physical conditions, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) cooperates with the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) to ensure that the auctioned assets get a price that suits the market.
However, the collection process against the 201 largest tax arrears still faces challenges, considering that some cases have not been executed through active collection because they do not yet have permanent legal force (inkrah).
"(Some tax evaders) there is still a legal process, there is still an appeal, or there is still a PK (reconsideration). Until later on, we will take action in accordance with the law," said Bimo.
