Comics Establish Motivatawa Platform, Teach Public Speaking Fun

JAKARTA Member of Central Jakarta Stand Up Comedy Elok Ambar Wulandari founded Motivatawa, an educational platform that combines public speaking learning by offering public speaking training in a light and pleasant way.

Elok said Motivatawa was present as a learning room for people who often felt pressured when they had to speak in public.

Through a humorous approach, participants are expected to be more relaxed and able to convey messages well.

Many people are stiff or tense because their minds are distracted by other people's expectations. We want to help them speak from the heart," Elok told reporters, Sunday, November 23.

In addition to speech techniques, participants are also equipped with an understanding of stage gestures, characterization, and strengthening mindsets.

Teachers not only come from professional circles, but also comics who are directly involved in the training process.

Starting From A Personal Experience

Elok, who is now the CEO of Motivatawa, admitted that he had experienced difficulties when he had to speak in public.

As an introvert, he is often inferior and worries that his message will not be heard by the audience. That experience prompted him to build this platform.

Introverts can also learn public speaking. We want participants not to look boring. Humor is still taught so that the atmosphere is warmer and not stiffer," he said.

According to Elok, the name Motivatawa comes from a combination of 'motive' and 'tawa' words, which illustrate the platform's goal of presenting an effective and fun public speaking learning.

Online And Offline Classes

Motivatawa opened classes online and offline at their offices on Jalan Raya Jatiwaringin, East Jakarta.

Registration is available via the Motivatawa.id site or the Instagram account @motivatawa.id.

Training programs are open to various age groups, ranging from elementary, junior high, high school, students, to professionals. In the future, Motivatawa also plans to open a public speaking English class.

"We involve national comics as teachers. This is a place to grow together, revive the public speaking as well as stand-up comedy," said Elok.
