The Ministry Of Transportation Prepares Christmas And New Year's Transportation 2026, The Bocimi Toll Road Is The Focus Of Supervision

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation has begun to prepare for the implementation of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) transportation.

Early preparations were made to ensure smooth and safety of people's travel, especially at points prone to congestion.

The Director General (Dirjen) of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Ayaan Suhanan, said that the initial preparations were made to ensure the safety and smooth running of travel, especially at congestion-prone points during the Nataru holiday.

Although this activity is routinely carried out every year, continued Aan, the evaluation from the previous implementation remains a reference for improving the implementation this year.

Even though we organize this operation every year, the implementation this year can be different. We can use last year's implementation as a guideline so that we can prepare for Christmas and New Year's transportation to the maximum this time," said Aan in an official statement, Monday, November 10.

Aan said that one of the main concerns in preparing for the Christmas and New Year transportation is the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) toll road which has the potential to experience traffic congestion.

According to Aan, Bocimi is a crucial point, especially in the toll exit section, so it needs to be a concern during the Christmas and New Year holidays this time.

"Traffic management on the Bocimi Toll Road needs to be maximized, there should be no traffic jams that trap road users. Then on the Simpang Parungkuda route there is also the potential for congestion, it is necessary to mitigate so that congestion does not occur," said Aan.

Aan explained that his party had also coordinated with a number of stakeholders in formulating strategies for organizing Nataru transportation. One of the steps taken is mapping congestion-prone points on arterial and toll roads, as well as preparing alternative routes with clear directions.

"We anticipate that by directly mapping out congestion-prone points on arterial routes, one of the trouble spots is in Bocimi, during normal holidays trips on this route can take a long time, so during the Nataru holiday it needs to be anticipated. Then alternative routes also need to be prepared with clear directions to facilitate travel and not mislead road users," he explained.

Aan said that the results of mapping congestion-prone points can be followed up with traffic engineering to prevent traffic congestion.

"In traffic engineering management, if there is a traffic jam in front of it, we must act at the previous intersection and do not make road users stuck in traffic jams," said Aan.

In addition, Aan mentioned the importance of checking tourism transportation before the Nataru holiday began.

He said, in the traffic management during the previous Christmas and New Year's period, it was seen that many people traveled for travel.

"Please ramp check tourism vehicles to ensure the safety of tourists. Do not let tourism transportation not be roadworthy instead forced to keep going, please help do rampcheck so that tourist transportation can really be roadworthy," said Aan.

Aan also emphasized the importance of coordinating with all stakeholders in carrying out this strategy.

According to him, this collaboration is the key to success in the implementation of Nataru transportation.
